My Approach to Helping
My approach to helping begins with a passion for what I do. I look forward to meeting new people, and admire their courage to take the first step towards healing. I encourage people to rediscover their resilience, confidence, joy, and quality of life. I have helped many to lead happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives with my tried and true methods.
More Info About My Practice
I am an out of network provider, which means I do not have any contracts with managed care companies. I will provide you with an itemized bill to submit to your insurance company. I will be happy to help facilitate reimbursement in any way I can. I work out of a home office.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I am a Trauma specialist, and utilize expressive arts as well as talk therapy to deal with issues brought into the therapy room. I have extensive training in eating disorders, and utilize individual therapy as well as nutritional, family, and couples counseling as needed. I offer VIP Packages that include outings to the grocery store and restaurants as people progress through treatment.
In addition to eating disorders, other specializations include grief, cancer treatment, and post traumatic stress.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy can help in many ways. Initially, it can be a great relief to unburden yourself and let another person empathize with your struggle. Getting another perspective can be quite validating and motivate someone to realize they are not "stuck". I utilize psychotherapy to show people they are, in fact, resilient, although this can be difficult to see in the midst of trauma. Psychotherapy can teach skills of assertiveness, confidence, and implementing new, healthy behaviors.
