Everyone confronts challenging emotional times in their life. Often it is hard to grasp the entirety of the issues we face. Without clarity, many of us are left feeling helpless, confused, and unsure of ourselves, which tends to further intensify the negative impact of our experience. I approach my work as a counselor in a practical manner to help people develop deeper self-awareness and bring clarity back to their lives and relationships. You can expect me to be a warm and understanding collaborator while also providing direct and honest feedback.

More Info About My Practice

I work with clients from a wide range of backgrounds, yet I have a particular interest in working with men. As a man, I know firsthand how cultural gender norms reinforce the notion that men are supposed to be emotionally strong and self-sufficient. While there are certainly positive aspects of this independent, masculine identity, it often leaves men facing a dilemma in times of emotional distress. We find ourselves denying our emotional needs in order to avoid the shame and dissonance of acting in opposition to cultural expectations and our own sense of identity. As a counselor, I work to support the positive aspects of men's identities, while helping them challenge misguided beliefs and create new, healthier patterns.
