What's My Approach to Therapy?
Katrina has a Master of Science in clinical mental health from Grand Canyon University. She was previously an RN, BSN, having graduated from Linfield College and worked in inpatient oncology, long-term care, and hospice case management.
Katrina has a wealth of life experience. She has three grown children and a husband of 30+ years, in addition to her work as a nurse. She has been heavily invested in youth group volunteering and mentoring, spent a few years homeschooling, has valued her role as encourager and friend, and sees herself as a lifelong learner.
Katrina comes to the counseling profession having always been deeply interested in people’s stories and supporting them in growth and healing. She wants people to feel safe and understood. She wants people to feel like their efforts are acknowledged and celebrated. Katrina has experienced “being on the therapy couch” herself and values the objectivity, perspective, and new skill sets that it can bring. She has a special place in her heart for healthcare providers, first responders, teachers, and clergy.
In her leisure time, Katrina enjoys gardening, reading, dancing to 80s music with her husband, hanging out with her adult kids, exercising, crafting, and having tea with friends.
