My Approach to Helping

"It's okay to fall apart from time to time. Tacos fall apart and we love them."
-- Source Unknown

At the core of it all we are looking for genuine connections. I meet my clients where they are at by listening and attuning to what they say in their gestures, their quirks, and their silence. They hold the ultimate power to move forward, while I equip and help empower them with the necessary tools. I come into the sessions with the belief that my client and I will both learn something new. Most importantly, my clients are not just the painters of their canvases, they also need environmental reinforcements to bring about their paintings to life.

Therapy can help people reach their rawness in the most beautiful way. It can help in creating a consistent sense of determination and resilience. It not only enhances relationships with others but also improves ways in which a client shows up for themselves. My clients will feel empowered and have an improved understanding of their feelings and thoughts and how they are interconnected with some psychological symptoms.

More Info About My Practice

As a South Asian, hard of hearing, hijabi therapist, I believe in upholding an anti-oppressive framework for all my clients. As an immigrant person of color, I understand the nuances that come with the social environment we live in. I strongly believe in giving back to the universe for what I have taken and for all the resources I have used. I am a climate change advocate and I am also a social justice activist. I volunteer whenever I go back to my home country to help out my South Asian community in whatever possible way I can. Communal love and family units hold significant importance in my value system. This is why I incorporate family and couples counseling.
