What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love seeing the glow in someone's eyes when they realize their own power to make their lives more enjoyable. I see many women who once believed their needs were not as much of a priority as the people they care about...women who have been used to pleasing everyone else. When they say, "I deserve to be happy" or "I'm putting myself at the top of my priority list", as cheesy as it may sound, it makes me so excited! I absolutely love connecting with people, helping them make sense of their problems, and begin to feel better.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Welcome to the club! The majority of people who are beginning counseling are on the fence about it. They don't know what to expect. We certainly understand, and help new clients feel more comfortable by explaining the process and offering a relaxing environment for therapy to take place. The uncertainty is usually alleviated when you are able to connect with a therapist you believe is a good fit.
