My Approach to Helping

Sean has a heart for adolescents, having experience in the school setting in providing assessment and support for the developmental life challenges of this age group. In one on one therapy, he helps clients overcome depression, anxiety, and trauma by utilizing mindfulness to calm the physiology of the symptoms, cognitive behavioral interventions to decrease the symptoms when we recognize them, and enhancing attachment in the client’s primary relationship to help them feel secure in their environment.

Sean works with families to support their relationships and connections with one another. By giving tools and teaching resources around communication and attachment. Sean is a relatable father of 2 boys and loves working with families.

At the heart of the therapy we provide, is an inherent belief that we all struggle and we all seek ways to balance our needs and our wants and we all need relationships with others. We do not function in isolation. We need one another. We need connection. Holistic health requires that we look at our physical health, our emotional health, our sleep, exercise, relationships, and purpose behind each of these, so our work together will be layered and whole-person-minded.

Sean is now offering couples counseling utilizing the Gottman method.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

Our heart is all about relationships, whether you're married, dating or single, we all have relationships with others around us and learn about ourselves and our values based on these relationship dynamics. Our clinic is passionate about connection, attachment and overall wellbeing in the context of relationship.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

We see therapy as a process. Not a one time or couple of times appointment. We are complex, multi-faceted beings and our concerns and issues are not "solved" or "fixed" quickly or in haste. We need time to develop a connection in our work together, and we need time to foster growth in a holistic way. We encourage our clients to engage in a journey of self-discovery, rather than just seek treatment for a single symptom and move on. Therefore our work with clients tends to be more long-term and in-depth, than short term.
