My Approach to Helping
Hello, My name is Sarah, and it is a pleasure to meet you! If you are struggling, feeling anxious, or feeling lost, then I invite you to reach out to me. Together, we can discuss the issues you are struggling with.
As a counselor I provide an environment where you will receive unconditional positive regard, acceptance, and genuineness. I focus on helping my clients to feel secure and safe in the therapeutic environment so that deeper therapeutic work can be done, such as exploring and experimenting with new ways of being, changing unwanted behaviors, processing strong emotions, and learning to live in line with personal values.
I currently work with a diverse range of individuals including children, tweens, adults, and older adults. Clients who come to see me might be struggling with Low Self-Esteem or self-hate, adjusting to a major change or transition in life, feeling "not good enough," Perfectionism, Social Anxiety, poor self-image, panic attacks, specific phobia's, or relationship issues.
As a professional, I completed a practicum year at William Temple House and trained for two years in behavioral therapies at Portland Anxiety Clinic and Collective Care Clinics, prior to starting my own practice. Additionally, I have a background in Massage Therapy, Yoga, and the Theater Arts. Please feel free to ask me specific questions about my training or approach, if you wish!
