My Approach to Helping
Hello, My name is Sarah, and it is a pleasure to meet you! If you are struggling, feeling anxious, or feeling alone, then I invite you to reach out to me. Together, we can discuss the issues you are struggling with.
As a counselor I provide an environment where you will receive unconditional positive regard, acceptance, and genuineness. I focus on helping my clients to feel secure and safe in the therapeutic environment so that the deeper therapeutic work can be done.
My belief is that these conditions create an environment where you will be able to experiment with new ways of being; such as changing unwanted behaviors or attitudes, emotional processing, and learning to live in line with personal values.
I believe that psychological interventions will work best when they are tailored to the person. I work collaboratively with my clients to identify and implement the correct interventions, over time.
In addition to my training as a counselor, I have a background in Massage Therapy, Yoga, and the Theater Arts. Please feel free to ask me specific questions about my training or approach, if you wish!
