My Approach to Helping
My life experiences have taught me that to feel better, we usually need to make changes in our lives, and that can be scary. I enjoy helping people work through that anxiety so they can build more of the life they want for themselves.
Rachel Salinas is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 5 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults, both young and old. She works with clients experiencing a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, chronic health conditions, and relationship problems. Rachel enjoys getting to know each unique individual and supporting them in developing a roadmap to achieve their goals and find more satisfaction in their lives. Rachel completed her Bachelor of Arts in History at Connecticut College and earned her Master of Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has worked in outpatient settings in community mental health and vocational rehabilitation. Rachel utilizes a person-centered approach that includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and mindfulness techniques, among others. Change can be scary and sometimes we get stuck. But with the right support, we can figure out how to overcome barriers and realize our full potential. Rachel would like to offer that support to you and help you move forward on your life journey.
