My Approach to Helping
Hello, I am Mrs. Prudence Jenkins, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas and California. I have more than 25 years of counseling experience which incorporates the private sector and institutions. Many of my clients include adolescents, adults, prisoners, and the military community.
My specialized knowledge and experience of working with military-related issues such as trauma, deployment, isolation, transitioning, and other stressors has given me a unique insight into the challenges our military and civilian families experience. I am also experienced in providing trauma-informed therapy to victims of sexual assault, at-risk juveniles, and substance use.
I work intensively with clients by offering treatment related to posttraumatic stress, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, childhood trauma, behavioral problems, and bipolar. Additionally, I have been trained in evidence-based practices including cognitive behavior therapy, cognitive processing therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, parenting for incarcerated individuals, and crisis intervention.
My therapeutic approach is implemented with a warm, non-judgmental, and genuine demeanor while considering a holistic, integrative, and strength-based approach committed to treating clients and helping them achieve their goals.
I obtained my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from San Diego State University.
