My Approach to Helping
I believe that small changes yield big differences in therapy. I use an intergrative approach to counseling because it is a series of changes that make your life better. This approach states that one's lifestyle, including diet, sleep, and exercise, can greatly impact mental health.
I work with all ages and specialize in improving relationships in couples, families, as well as work and school situations. Sometimes when uncovering relationship issues, we find untreated depression, anxiety, trauma, or addiction. In all my years of experience, it seems there are usually many factors that have resulted in you seeking help. We work together to gently unpack your hurt and find solutions for you to live a better life.
My office is warm and inviting and we work hard to create a spa like environement. I tailor your counseling session to meet your individual needs. If you need to move, we can walk the beautifully wooded Trinity Trails right out side my office.
There are 6 other therapist in my group practice and we offer evening and weekend appointments. Our office manager answers the phone on Saturday or you can text or leave a message for her to make an appointment anytime day or night.

Couple or Family Intensive Counseling can be anywhere from 3 hours to 3 days.
We can get 3 to 4 months worth of counseling completed in 3 to 4 days. Research states intensives for couples are more effective than traditional counseling. In traditional counseling we might get in the middle of a conflict and the couple has to leave without the therapist to guide them. During intensive counseling we can work through the conflict using theraputic interventions with the therapist. Penny is a Level 2 Gottman Trained Therapist. How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy can help you determine what is inaccurate thinking and replace negative thoughts that have such a detrimental affect on our mental health. You can learn techniques to help you achieve a healthier mind. Therapy can help restore power and hope that is often diminished when trauma and loss hits us.
Couples can learn how to argue fair, repair past damages, and gain the knowledge to work through future conflicts during intensive therapy sessions. Intensive couples therapy can provide short-term therapy with positive long-term results.
