What's My Approach to Therapy?
I work with clients struggling with unhealthy coping skills and dysfunctional survival traits as an adaptation to a deeper issue. Those struggling with personality challenges, codependency, trauma, obsessive-compulsive (OCD), anxiety, perfectionism, and eating challenges are among my areas of expertise. Trauma populations include, but are not limited to, sexual trauma, military trauma, spiritual trauma, emotional trauma, physical trauma, neglect, and abandonment.
I am trained in many types of therapy and have an eclectic approach. I provide psychoeducation from a mindful perspective, utilizing eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and trauma-informed approaches to further enhance and address the goals of the individual. Some other types of services I offer are Gottman Method, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), somatic therapy, and trauma-informed yoga.
If somebody is in a situation they cannot get out of themselves, and they are willing to reach out at this time, I am happy to meet and discuss options for treatment. I am willing to refer clients to appropriate levels of care or other specialists, if necessary. My goal is to provide the best care for the individual.
