My Approach to Helping
People who seek therapy need a neutral person to listen to them. Many people find relief from simply talking about their struggles. Building a trusting relationship with clients allows them to feel grounded and safe to be able to explore solutions to their problems. I am trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) which is an approach to help people get past trauma. I believe we have all experienced trauma - whether it's the "big T" trauma (life threatening situations) or "little T" trauma (anything that continues to affect you now). EMDR helps put trauma in the past which can alleviate anxiety and depression and allow a person move forward in their lives in a healthier, happier way.
