What's My Approach to Therapy?
Hi! I’m Madeline, and I'm dedicated to helping adolescents and adults navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, and difficult life transitions. We’ll work together to build practical skills and coping strategies so you can feel more in control of your life. I’m warm, easy to talk to, and yes, we’ll probably laugh sometimes, because healing doesn’t have to feel stiff or serious every second. I use evidence-based approaches like eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) to process trauma, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to shift unhelpful thought patterns, and play therapy to support emotional growth in younger clients.
I specialize in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy that helps rewire trauma's grip on your brain and body. Whether it's posttraumatic stress (PTSD), complex relational trauma, or the quiet echoes of childhood wounds, EMDR targets those stuck memories, reducing their emotional charge so you can live fully in the present. Think of EMDR as trauma cleanup, but without the hazmat suit.
Together we'll slow things down and get to the root of what’s been impacting you. We’ll look at how your past and present connect, and find ways to help you feel more grounded. I offer both in-person and virtual sessions in an inclusive, affirming, and culturally sensitive space for all. I look forward to the opportunity to work alongside you.
My Practice & Services
I’m part of Crosstimbers Counseling, a group practice based in Jenks, Oklahoma. Our practice is built around the belief that therapy should feel accessible, human, and supportive, not rushed or overly clinical.
We offer in-person and virtual therapy, and our team includes clinicians with different specialties so clients can be thoughtfully matched with the right therapist. Sessions are collaborative and paced intentionally, with a focus on building trust and meaningful progress over time.
In addition to individual therapy, our practice may periodically offer group therapy and workshops focused on topics like trauma recovery, anxiety, emotional regulation, and personal growth. We strive to create a welcoming, affirming environment where clients feel respected, understood, and supported throughout their care.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I?m especially skilled in helping clients work through trauma and experiences that continue to affect them emotionally or physically, even when they understand those events logically. I use EMDR to support clients processing PTSD, complex trauma, childhood wounds, and distressing memories that feel ?stuck.? I also help with anxiety, panic, emotional overwhelm, negative core beliefs, and patterns rooted in past experiences that show up in relationships or daily life.
I am skilled in helping clients with:
Trauma, PTSD, and complex trauma
Childhood and relational wounds
Anxiety, panic, and chronic stress
Distressing memories that feel stuck or intrusive
Negative core beliefs and self-criticism
Emotional overwhelm and nervous system dysregulation
Relationship patterns shaped by past experiences
Life transitions connected to unresolved trauma
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
What I love most about being a psychotherapist is getting to sit with people in their real, unfiltered moments and help them make sense of experiences that once felt overwhelming or confusing. I find it deeply meaningful to watch clients reconnect with themselves, build self-trust, and realize they?re more capable than they thought.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
If you?ve had a negative therapy experience, you?re not alone. A bad fit or an experience that felt invalidating can make it hard to trust the process again. I take that seriously. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and involved in your therapy. We?ll move at your pace, check in often, and adjust as needed so therapy feels supportive, not overwhelming.
