My Approach to Helping

Private Pay Services Only - Health Insurance is NOT Accepted - Offering Online Sessions

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, my specialty is helping those with relationship issues. Throughout the past 11 years, I have received advanced clinical training and gained years of professional counseling skills. This has allowed me to develop helpful approaches to supporting those with relationship and family issues. Through this experience, I provide all my clients with effective strategies, evidence-based techniques, and tools to help them live healthier and happier lives.

Below are the different services I provide:

Relationship Counseling - This service is geared towards individuals who struggle with relationships, whether it's between your family, friends, coworkers, or significant other. What I provide is a space for individuals to reflect on their relational struggles, learn how to build skills that would enhance the relationships around them, and discover the best ways to improve your interaction with others that will bring out the best in you.

Couples Therapy - This service is geared towards any couple (from dating to seasoned couples) that are struggling with the basic relationship issues (i.e. communication, trust, expectations, social media, intimacy, etc). This service is designed to help couples learn how to enhance their communication skills so that when they continue to grow, they are well equipped to face whatever challenges that life may throw their way.

Premarital Counseling - This service is for engaged couples who are dealing with stress and issues that show up when preparing for marriage. During premarital counseling sessions, engaged couples will discuss topics such as wedding planning stress, differences in values that may cause issues (i.e. political or religious beliefs, having children, cohabiting, etc), conversations around life after the wedding, etc. This service can also be provided to individuals who may experience cold feet (anxiousness or worry prior to the wedding).

Marriage Counseling - This is for newlyweds and seasoned married couples. This service is designed to explore the aspects of married life and how to move through difficulties around marriage expectations (i.e. raising and disciplining children, financial decisions or hardship, marital affairs, divorce separation, etc).

Family Therapy - This is specifically for parents of teens. Whether you struggle with co-parenting or are just not sure how to handle the emotional rollercoaster that comes with raising a teenager, this service is to help break down communication issues, as a way to enhance family bonding, learn effective parenting co-parenting techniques, and address concerning or problematic behaviors. Family sessions (unlike couples) can be broken down to best address all aspects of the family (i.e. sessions with parents only, teen only, parent and teen, siblings only, or entire family [even if it is important to incorporate extended family members such as uncles, aunts, cousins or grandparents]).

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Many couples & families ask how long will it take to make things better. In short, it all depends on four (4) aspects:

1) Time - How much time are you willing to commit to the process of change?
2) Energy - Are you willing to invest your energy in a slow process that may take months to see progress?
3) Committment - How committed you are to yourself, your spouse, partner or family to see whether your & their behavior, actions, or responses will change?
4) Situation - Does your specific situation (i.e. divorce, seperation, infidelity, trauma, history of abuse or violence, illness, death, family conflict, etc) feel so challenging that the thought of enduring any more pain or hurt has you feeling worried that things won't be different?

In short, counseling services with me may last between 3 to 9 months. This is all depending on how often you see me (once a week or biweekly), whether you implement some of the strategies discussed in the sessions, and how open you & your partner, spouse or family are to commit to the process of change.
