More Info About My Practice
Are you scared that your relationship is ending?
Has a specific event left you feeling as though the trust has gone from your relationship?
Are you worried you’ll repeat past relationship mistakes?
Do you and your spouse feel like roommates rather than soul mates?
Is almost every word exchanged hurtful?
Has it been way too long since you have felt like your spouse has really heard you?
Does it feel like you cannot even recognize the person sleeping next to you?
All of these reasons lead us to feel very disconnected from the person who is supposed to always be there for us. Couple's therapy can be a great way to get back to where you and your spouse started. Imagine feeling the excitement from a loving touch all over again, or how much fun it was to just go out on a date with your spouse.
These feelings can be rekindled with the help of a couple's therapist.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I focus on helping couples communicate with each other in a way that shows compassion, validation, and understanding. It feels terrible to be lonely and misunderstood in your relationship. Learning how to ask for what you need and have your partner respond to your reach is life changing. We all just want to be heard, understood, and to know that our person truly cares for us.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
It can be really overwhelming to go see a therapist. You are putting trust in someone you barely know to help you with some of the most painful parts of your life. I suggest coming in for my free 30-minute consultation. You get to know a little about me and the process before having to really commit your hard earned time and money.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
I believe having a connection with your therapist is one of the most important parts of Therapy. If a client cannot open up with their therapist, then therapy can't work at the pace or depth that can be the most beneficial. We are working on your life and your marriage, and those are not things that should be trusted to someone who you feel "iffy" about.
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
Therapy is a process that should be completely designed for the client. Going too fast or to places that are too painful right away will surely lead to feeling overwhelmed. I go at my client's pace and let them know that I am with them throughout this process. They are not alone!
