My Approach to Helping
My goal as a therapist is to help you learn how to relate to your emotions and thoughts in a more constructive matter. Together we take on the journey of you learning how to develop safety within your body, and self acceptance towards the various parts of self. Often, we can live in self rejection and judgment which can hold us back and leave us repeating unhelpful patterns. In this space we can explore this together and learn to develop compassion and understanding for yourself and what you are currently going through, which aids in a growth mindset.
I implement various evidence based modalities such as compassion focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, emotion focused therapy, and internal family systems to help you learn how to cultivate self awareness around what your emotions are telling you, and to learn to feel comfortable within your body. I believe in the power of the mindbody connection, and the power of healing that comes with making adjustments to suit your bodies need. Together we listen to this message and implement strategies to help you take care of yourself from a holistic perspective.
Over time you will learn to develop compassion and love for yourself, everyday we are watering the seeds that we initially plant until it becomes a garden. I look forward to helping you allow your flowers to fully bloom.
