My Approach to Helping

If you feel stuck and struggling against a painful, unproductive present or caught up in past memories or future worries, freedom is possible. We will gently face what feels unfaceable and harness the lessons learned to support you today, always mindfully grounding our work in what you value most. And the vitality uncovered will carry you forward tomorrow, the next week and beyond. No matter whom you love. What you believe. Or where you are in your life right now. I offer a safe, compassionate, accepting space and skilled guidance to experience and make sense of emotions that are too overwhelming to face alone.

Many of us have unresolved trauma, often originating in early life, and sometimes out of conscious awareness. This trauma manifests in a wide variety of symptoms, from chronic fatigue, anxiety, and burnout to relationship problems and financial woes. To alleviate and possibly reverse the psychological, neurological, and biochemical impact of trauma, deep work is essential. I am an individual therapist, a Complex Trauma Therapy Specialist (CTTS), a Certified AEDP therapist, a Certified AEDP Institute Training Supervisor, an IFS-trained therapist & an EMDR-trained therapist.

Our work together in trauma-informed, individual therapy is to create safety and steadiness inside, gently get to know the ways trauma affects your life, lessen the charge and intensity of traumatic memory and eventually, develop a more peaceful experience of living and ongoing growth. When guided thoughtfully, you can address it, move through it, and learn how to apply the lessons of healing and recovery to your life, work, and relationships. Although each therapy experience for the treatment and resolution of traumatic experiences is unique, I offer AEDP, IFS, and Somatic-EMDR as pure experiences of each therapy as well as blended, for effectiveness.

More Info About My Practice

I am an emotion-focused experiential therapist, a Complex Trauma Therapy Specialist (CTTS), a Certified AEDP therapist, a Certified AEDP Institute Training Supervisor, an IFS-trained therapist & an EMDR-trained therapist, clinically trained at New York University. I am deeply passionate about helping individuals make lasting change for the better, create meaningful relationships (inside and out), resolve roadblocks to peace of mind and build lives that feel truly worth living. I believe that is possible for all of us.

I welcome people from all backgrounds. My practice includes many individuals who identify with the trauma recovery, addiction recovery, creative, and LGBTQIA+ communities.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

Therapy is an act of self-investment and compassion: when we deepen and clarify our connection to the core of who we are, we can see ourselves and our lives clearly and act to create a more fulfilling life. Even the most painful experiences have the power to inform, inspire, and transform us.

My therapy style combines experiential, emotion-focused and relational-dynamic therapies. I work "experientially" because connecting with a felt-sense of your authentic feelings, at the moment, is often a more direct route to fostering deep insight, emotional wellbeing, and change. Our past is intimately intertwined with our present experience of ourselves, our relationships, our work and careers, and our view of the world. By tuning in to your emotions in the present, we have an opportunity to process and learn from the past without simply reliving old wounds. I hope to help you create new experiences both in therapy and in life that are inherently healing and feel good to you.
