My Approach to Helping

Hi I'm Mike! I help my clients recognize the mental, emotional, and behavioral patterns that have contributed to bringing about symptoms, while beginning to shift those patterns to promote more emotional regulation, peace, and self control in the midst of stressors. I help people understand the neurologically wired conditioning of their past, while reframing those perceptions to promote self worth and present moment awareness that can drastically improve symptom regulation. I love to help people find their peace with life, while assisting them with neutralizing the impact of worries, shame and guilt so that they can improve and overcome symptoms.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

We all come from various conditioned backgrounds in which we learned to see ourselves and the world in a certain way. Our limbic system (fight or flight) is essentially our threat system that interprets our surroundings and ourselves, and produces uncomfortable feelings and sensations in an effort to protect us from the unfamiliar (fear). All coping behaviors or negative patterns in our lives are a result of self protective behaviors from feeling the things we don't want to feel because of the negative narratives we have attached to those feelings. By learning to reframe our self image, and our interpretations of ourselves and the events that trigger our limbic system, we can build tolerance for those feelings and overcome the impact those sensations have on us, and learn to live in a place of peace and value consistent behaviors.
