My Approach to Helping
Everyone seems to struggle with identity in our shame-filled culture. I work with people (especially LGBTQIA+ people) trying to connect better with their own sense of self and lay claim to their strengths. My clients are individuals exploring who they are, in transition, or needing support due to depression or anxiety. Shame permeates our culture, and I strive to help those I work with understand themselves uniquely so they can love themselves authentically.
Working with me should feel empowering and natural. I operate through a body and sex-positive framework, incorporating a variety of therapeutic techniques including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices. Together, we’ll find the tools you need to move through this time, manage difficult emotions, and incorporate regulatory practices into your daily life. Your ability to cope with stress will increase, and you’ll become more comfortable and confident in yourself.
It can be so challenging to engage in self-love, especially when we are still navigating who we are and who we are not. As we work together, my hope is that you ultimately see yourself in an authentic and holistic light.
