My Approach to Helping
Marcie is an Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who graduated with a master’s degree in social work from Simmons College. She works with teens (ages 16+), adults, families, and couples. Marcie specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, life transitions, and trauma. Marcie also has years of experience working with children and families navigating the special education system. She enjoys mentoring and supporting parents through that process.
Marcie is passionate about helping her clients develop new skills and different approaches to facilitate meaningful change in their lives. In sessions, Marcie focuses on goals and values to find more enjoyment in life. She uses a compassionate, didactic, strength-based, and non-judgmental approach. She is also a parent and can support caregivers in creating balance and not pouring from an empty cup.
She utilizes a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, art therapy, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness to help you feel better and have an improved relationship with your thoughts and feelings.
