My Approach to Helping
Hey, I'm Lindsay! I'm passionate about helping folks to reach their goals, improve their relationships with others, and to be the best versions of themselves. I specialize in anxiety, PTSD, couplesmarital therapy, and LGBTQ+ concerns.
I use humor as often as possible, while still maintaining a serious and focused approach to therapy. I keep up with the latest research and enjoy translating important concepts for my clients so that they can become experts in their own mental health care.
More Info About My Practice
I co-own and operate a practice of amazing female doctoral-level psychologists. Our providers work with anxiety, stress, trauma and PTSD, relationships and marital concerns, LGBTQ+ issues, worry and perfectionism, co-dependency, and family and parenting stress (among others). Our therapists use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while incorporating other high quality evidence-based treatment approaches. My personal favorites are Attachment Theory, Family Systems, and Cognitive Processing Therapy.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
It's okay to be honest about whether you think a particular therapist seems right for you. (I never presume to be everyone's cup of tea). It's important for therapists not to "pitch" themselves to you. In fact, independent of our fancy scientific methods and complex techniques, research shows that the best therapeutic outcomes occur when a client feels known, understood, and connected with their therapist and that together they have a shared vision. So, when it comes to choosing a therapist, don't ever forget that the choice is yours!
