My Approach to Helping
I have over 10 years of experience working with adolescents and adults with issues including anxiety, depression, grief, critical illness, relationship conflict, self-harm, and criminal justice involvement. I have completed specialized training in trauma, complex PTSD, and anxiety disorders, as well as working with adolescents. My work is heavily focused on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) but I incorporate tools from a variety of modalities including mindfulness-based therapy, somatic therapy, and attachment-based therapy.
I'm excited to help you on your journey to "re-wire" your brain through psychotherapy. This means that we will work together to (1) identify your goals, (2) figure out simple and effective strategies to achieve your goals based on what works for you, and (3) practice and repeat so that the changes you want to make are life-long. I strive to establish a safe, non-judgmental environment so that our time together can be supportive and as productive as you would like it to be. I am proactive but always client-centered, so it's really all about you.
