My Approach to Helping
I work with people who are anxious, depressed, grieving or just need some more support and structure in their life. Maybe you have experienced trauma and need help getting to the other side of it. Maybe you are at a crossroads and are making changes in your life. Maybe you are stuck and don’t know which way to go. Or maybe old beliefs and patterns of thinking and behaving just aren’t working for you anymore and it’s time to find a new way. My clients are seeking more joy in their life and want to live more fully according to what truly matters to them.
I use a wellness model and focus on your inherent strengths and abilities. I have an integrative trauma practice using EMDR, Somatic work, CBT, Voice Dialogue, Narrative Therapy, TA, Corrective Experiencing, DBT and Mindfulness. My goal is to be a supportive presence for you as you gently, in your own time, uncover underlying issues and move through them so they don’t define you.
I believe in the resilience of the human spirit and think that it is an act of courage and hope to engage in therapy. My style is light-hearted and I infuse humor and play into our sessions. I will help you to seek out the resources in yourself so that you can move through your life in a way that feels right to you.
