My Approach to Helping
I am passionate about helping people who are feeling "stuck" and who are seeking to be more productive and balanced. I help foster compassionate self-talk, improved self-esteem, and personal empowerment. I also promote mindfulness-based practices such as deep breathing and strengthening one's ability to focus on the present moment as one way to combat stress and anxiety.
I believe you are more than your problems! We all get stuck sometimes in unproductive patterns and ways of being, but we are highly adaptive and fully capable of learning how to get ourselves out of that negative state. You deserve the freedom that comes with living your very best life possible, and I am here to help you on that journey.

I also specialize in working with couples across the spectrum of their relationship. I work collaboratively to determine couples' strengths & growth areas and develop a plan to achieve specific goals in the relationship. Because I tailor the program to each unique couple, PRE-MARITAL SUPPORT with me is more extensive than many other programs offered.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
Too often I hear of people having bad experiences with therapy. The most common reason people give is that they did not feel heard by their therapist. I believe therapy is as unique as you are and should be a collaborative experience. This means that the client and therapist have an open dialogue about concerns, expectations, and progress of therapy. Therapist-client fit is the best predictor of success and it is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist. I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment in which clients can openly discuss their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors without judgment. Every good therapist should understand the importance of a good fit. Therefore, if you should feel that you may be better suited to work with someone else, any good therapist should be able to provide you with a list of referrals that may better fit your needs.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
Challenges in life and relationships are inevitable. Sometimes we become overwhelmed by our challenges and get caught in negative or unproductive ways of being. We learn to survive in our relationships and environment by adapting to our current circumstances. However, sometimes the solutions that may have once been productive no longer work for us so we get stuck. People seek therapy for a variety of reasons; I believe it shows unbelievable strength to acknowledge that something is not working and to seek support when making the decision to live a more satisfying and productive life.
