What's My Approach to Therapy?

I am available for LPC Supervision in both TX and CT. I hire highly motivated, self-driven associates who are eager to learn about private practice, the methods studied in graduate school, as well as the methods I've written over my years as a counselor and supervisor. I pride myself in offering a path toward high-end therapeutic care in a private practice setting.

My approach to personal growth with clients (and associates) is heart-first, inclusive, and unapologetically outside the box. I’m less interested in “fixing” you and more interested in really knowing you, your patterns, your pain, your humor, your history, and the parts of you that are still becoming. I blend solid clinical training with creativity, curiosity, and a deep respect for every walk of life. Together, we’ll rethink old stories, challenge what no longer fits, and build something more honest and alive. If you’re longing for a therapist who brings both clinical depth and real-world humanity, you’re in the right place.

My Practice & Services

I am the founder of Vervewell Counseling. My beautiful therapy group is grounded in Fort Worth, TX, while I am licensed in both Texas and Connecticut. I call Mystic, CT my home base, traveling to Texas often to see some of my clients in-office, and to meet with my brainy Vervewell staff. I offer only virtual therapy sessions and virtual supervision. However, will meet in person when available.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Going to therapy does not mean we are weak or flawed; it means we are human. The way I see therapy, and the way I practice it, is that counseling is a form of self-care. Many people begin therapy because something difficult or heartbreaking has happened, but they stay with on-going sessions because therapy becomes a supportive space to understand their own human condition.

We all experience burnout, anxiety, depression, or emotional fallout at different points in our lives. Seeking therapy is not a sign of failure; it's a sign of strength and awareness. With a quality therapist, you gain a safe place to process life's challenges, develop tools to thrive, and become a stronger navigator of both the darker days and the lighter ones. Therapy helps you rise, not because you are broken, but because you deserve support. We all do.

Sometimes I like to compare going to therapy as getting a gym membership. We don't look down at ourselves for signing up for a gym membership, or actively going to work out many times a week. We become proud of ourselves for participating in our health, wellness and self-care. And we usually don't stop going because we are finally toned, or we've become able to do 100 crunches without stopping. We keep going to maintain the strength and good health we are enjoying. Such is therapy. Find a therapist who views your mental strength and emotional wellness this way.
