My Approach to Helping
If you’ve landed here, you’re probably tired of the constant inner pressure to “do more,” “be better,” or hold everything together perfectly. Maybe you’ve been the strong one for so long, no one notices how much you’re carrying—not even you sometimes. You’re high-functioning on the outside, but underneath, the anxiety, overthinking, and self-criticism don’t seem to let up. If that sounds familiar, I want you to know this: you don’t have to keep doing it alone.
I’m a therapist who believes healing doesn’t come from fixing what’s “wrong” with you — it comes from learning to relate to yourself differently, with more curiosity and compassion. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in real-life tools that meet you where you are. In our work together, we’ll gently explore the stories you’ve been carrying, learn how your inner critic developed (and how to quiet her), and begin building a relationship with yourself that’s rooted in trust, not shame.
Therapy with me isn’t about perfection—it’s about permission—permission to feel, question, rest, and grow on your own terms. If you’re ready to move through life with more peace, clarity, and self-kindness, I’d be honored to walk that path with you.
More Info About My Practice
My practice is fully virtual, serving women across North Carolina through secure, HIPAA-compliant teletherapy. I offer individual therapy for adult women, with a focus on self-compassion, anxiety, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. Sessions are held weekly or biweekly, depending on your needs and goals.
In addition to therapy, I also offer digital self-guided resources like Silence Your Inner Mean Girl, a 14-day workbook designed to help you shift your self-talk and build daily self-compassion habits in just 10–15 minutes a day. These resources are perfect for clients who want tools they can use in between sessions or for those outside of NC looking for supportive guidance.
My practice is built around the belief that healing should feel safe, accessible, and supportive, not rushed or clinical. I offer a free 15-minute consultation for new clients to ensure it’s a good fit before getting started.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist isn't to fix you. It's to create a safe, supportive space where you can soften, be seen, and reconnect with yourself. I walk alongside you as we explore what's beneath the self-criticism, the overthinking, and the pressure to always have it all together.
I believe therapy is a space where we practice being human - messy, emotional, and real. I'll show up with warmth, curiosity, and compassion, and I'll also gently challenge the patterns that no longer serve you. You can expect sessions that are validating, nonjudgmental, and grounded in practical tools that fit your life.
I see myself as a collaborator in your healing - someone who helps you remember that you're already whole, even when life feels overwhelming. Together, we'll help you build an inner voice rooted in kindness, not criticism, so you can move through the world with more peace and self-trust.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
For years, I was my own worst critic. I thought being hard on myself was the only way to stay successful, likable, and "in control." I chased perfection, replayed every awkward interaction in my head, and believed that any flaw meant I was failing. Even as a therapist, I struggled quietly with anxiety, burnout, and the pressure to be everything to everyone.
It wasn't until I discovered the power of self-compassion, not just as a concept but as a daily practice, that things began to shift. I stopped trying to fix myself and started learning how to be with myself differently. That transformation has deeply shaped how I show up as a therapist.
Because I've been there, I don't just bring training into the therapy room. I bring lived experience. I know what it's like to feel exhausted by your own thoughts. And I know how life-changing it can be to finally hear a kind voice in your head and realize it's your own.
My own journey taught me that healing doesn't come from pushing harder - it comes from learning to soften. Now, I'm honored to support my clients in that work, too.
