My Approach to Helping
Hi there – I’m Cat, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a passion for helping children and their families feel seen, supported, and empowered. Childhood can be full of challenges- especially when trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, or ADHD are involved. Whether your child is struggling emotionally, behaviorally, or socially, I’m here to walk alongside you both with compassion and effective care.
I specialize in working with children ages 4-15, using a trauma-informed, relational approach that honors each child’s unique needs and strengths. I bring extensive experience from working in day-treatment settings, where I provided structured, intensive therapeutic care for children with complex emotional and behavioral needs. This background allows me to support children who may require more than traditional outpatient therapy.
As a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner, I focus on building strong, healing relationships grounded in connection, trust, and safety—especially for children from hard places or with attachment disruptions. I also hold a certification in Animal-Assisted Social Work, and when clinically appropriate, I am happy to discuss support animals to enhance emotional regulation.
My approach blends play therapy, cognitive-behavioral strategies (CBT), and family support to help children process emotions, develop coping skills, and thrive. I work closely with caregivers to strengthen the parent-child relationship and create lasting change at home.
I believe every child deserves the chance to heal and grow in a space where they feel safe, understood, and valued. If you’re looking for a therapist who brings both heart and clinical expertise to the work, I’d love to connect and see how I can support your family.
