My Approach to Helping
Don't you just love those therapists in movies who sit there looking all stoic and toss out the occasional, "So, how does that make you feel?" Yeah, me neither.
Hi there! I'm Kris. I became a therapist because I am passionate about helping people find peace and joy in their lives. And I believe, regardless of circumstance, that this is possible for everyone. I strive to create a warm and empathic environment where honesty is paramount, and my presence and support are genuine and unwavering. I'm a real person and I bring my real self to the therapeutic relationship.
I work with people who are hurting openly or quietly. Who recognize there's something missing in their lives, but struggle to identify or claim it. Who show up, however difficult it becomes or has been, and strive to stay present, connected, authentic, whole. I work with people like you.
And I approach our work through an eclectic model, utilizing theory and techniques from a multitude of orientations. Want to know more about that? Just ask. But mainly, I believe in the healing power of relationships. And that the sense of connection a healthy relationship provides is an essential aspect of well-being. What's most important is that I love what I do. I'm immensely dedicated to my clients. And I want nothing more than to see you thrive.
If certain experiences, relationships, andor beliefs are affecting your ability to draw satisfaction and fulfillment from life, therapy can often help to achieve insight and resolve problematic situations. It's hard, but we can do hard things. Together.
