My Approach to Helping
Welcome. If you found your way here, I imagine there might be more than one - perhaps even conflicting - things going on inside for you right now. Perhaps something within you longs for the warmth of a deep relationship - one where you can feel safe and supported enough to be seen and to fully unload. At the same time, perhaps the idea of therapy still feels a little scary or unknown. Perhaps some days you find it hard just to breathe. Yet perhaps part of you also finds yourself holding on to this form of “high-functioning” fill-in-the-blank because it’s the only one you know. Whatever it is, what I know right now is that something led you to my little front door and I want you to know - you’re not alone, and I’m deeply interested in getting to know whatever that something in you is more.
I’m an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (#130527) in Pasadena, supervised by Dr. Chris Tickner, LMFT (#42576), who works with individuals and couples through a holistic, mindfulness-centered approach. Within the therapeutic process I am highly integrative, often blending both evidence-based practices from mindfulness, somatic psychology, and cognitive-behavioral therapy, with many more creative and imaginative techniques that help clients access parts of themselves often buried deep beneath the surface. As a Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), I also greatly enjoy bringing the lens of the body into my work with clients. Neuroscience continues to show us just how significant the body and nervous system are to our mental and emotional health, and I love helping clients also get in touch with their body’s physical, emotional, and intuitive intelligence, often for the first time.
Ultimately I aim to create a space where you can slow down, relax your grip, take a full breath, and explore: What’s really getting in the way of the deep wellbeing, relationships, and life you ultimately deserve? I’ll be candid, the journey through therapy can be hard. But it can also be wildly exhilarating, illuminating, and, yes, life-changing. So let this be your call - to take one small step toward the life that that little something deep within your soul came here looking for. I’m here when you’re ready, and wherever your journey takes us, I’ll be right there with you, too.
