My Approach to Helping
Behind each difficult emotion or experience, lies a valuable lesson about who we are. To get through life and its obstacles we need connection, compassion and acceptance. In the therapeutic space, I offer a non judgmental look into how you came to be, so that feelings can be felt and not shut out. By inviting these feelings in and processing them together, we challenge our avoidancefear so you be seen right where you are at. This compassionate approach rebuilds the relationship with yourself and gets to the root of change. Change does not come from saying "this is where I want to be and I'm not there now."
It happens when we start to understand the purpose a behavior or feeling serves within us. That's where I come in. Together we can start to understand and reframe our behaviors as adaptive to our experiences in life, creating immense compassion and acceptance for who we are right now. From that fortified place, we can begin to build new ways of existing.
When we understand ourselves, our pain, trauma or life experience, the need to repeat unhealthy behaviors or exacerbate negative feelings decreases. I am here to collaborate with you on how to rebuild a relationship with yourself with awareness of your desires and needs, goals and limitations. All with compassion and strength.
