My Approach to Helping
Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed with thoughts and feelings? Repeating behaviors or relationship patterns? Are you too familiar with the negative voice in your head? Maybe you struggle on the inside but seem to have to all together on the outside? These thoughts and feelings can be exhausting to carry on your own and you don't have to. I invite you to set up a meeting with me so we can build a relationship and create a space where you can begin thinking and feeling about some of these obstacles that keep you from being your most authentic, free, and creative self.
My approach to helping is rooted in safety and the unique relationship you and I will create together. In my office you will find a safe space as I invite you to say what you feel rather than what you ought to say.
More Info About My Practice
I work primarily with women experiencing self-doubt and anxiety. They often feel exhausted from not getting what they give and are sometimes high achieving. I also work with new mothers who are navigating all that post-birth and parenting can bring. There are so many pressures on women but you don't have to navigate them alone. I am interested in walking along side you.
I journey with adolescents as they go about trying to discover who they are and who they want to be. Perhaps they are struggling academically or with peers. Maybe they are not making good choices or are hurting themselves in some way. I also enjoy working with parents as they navigate the rough waters of adolescence.
In all of my work, I aim to create a safe space where we can come together to think thoughts we could not think alone and I walk with you on the journey of self-discovery and healing.
My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'
My training and ways of working focus on the individual at a deep level and goes beyond symptoms and diagnosis. My goal is to understand your experience and ways you've adapted. Sometimes we find these adaptations no longer working for us but are unsure of what to do. This is where being connected to a professional who sees their task as understanding you, helping you to make links, and valuing your experience can leverage lasting change.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
I see patients on at least a weekly basis. Some patients come more frequently. This is mutually agreed upon in our early sessions and can be reviewed as we go along. This frequency helps secure our therapeutic relationship and allows us both to hold the work in mind. Research has shown that increased frequency of treatment increases good treatment outcomes.
