My Approach to Helping
Let’s be honest... life is not always easy but does it have to be this difficult? Sometimes we just need to talk to someone who will listen without judgment to help make sense out of the thoughts running through our mind. That’s where I come in. I want to help you sort through the difficult times whether it’s depression, anxiety, stress, grief, co-dependency, relationship issues, communication, anger, or something else. I work with teens and adults.
Who am I? I am a wife, a Stepmom, a teacher, and a counselor. I love my family, friends, God, and music. My husband and I enjoy traveling, cooking, and simply spending time together. We enjoy pretty much anything that gets our grown kids over to the house.
I consider it a great honor to be trusted with clients' stories... I would love to hear yours. Contact me today.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Oh, I know, I've heard it all... only crazy people go to therapy... I can figure this out on my own... I don't want to go talk to some stranger... I'm not going to lay on a couch while some weirdo psychoanalyzes me... the list goes on and on.
I get it, therapy is scary. Especially if you have never been to a counselor, or worse went to a bad therapist. Let me tell you the secret... Therapy is all about you. If you want to lay on the couch, cool. If you want to sit on the floor, that is cool, too. If you want to jump right in with the heavy stuff, we can do that. If you want to play UNO and decide if I'm trust worthy, that is okay too. This is for you. It is for your healing. We will find the path the to healing that best suits you and your needs. No pressure, no expectation. Just a request to be willing to show up and give it a chance.
PS. I don't own any ink blots so you can take that off your fear list, too. :-)
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
I have had my share of struggles from major medical issues since childhood, chronic pain, financial difficulties, anxiety, and complicated relationships... My life has not been a smooth ride but it has definitely been interesting. In the midst of my darkest days I never imagined it would lead me to a career in counseling. Today, I know that every obstacle taught me something. I am thankful for those lessons. They guided me to where I am today.
