My Approach to Helping
As a woman and a parent, I am familiar with the struggles of balancing the demands of everyday life with the need for self-care.
Kara Walker is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who has over 10 years of experience working with adolescents and adults across the lifespan with issues related to trauma, depression, undeveloped coping skills, grief, difficult life transitions, military and veteran's issues, low self-esteem, chronic stress, and anxiety. She enjoys working with clients who are committed to their journey of self-discovery and healing. Kara specializes in empowering women who are struggling to discover their self-worth and reach their goals. Kara earned her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Washington and believes that each individual seeking therapy deserves to find a therapist they connect with and trust. Her goal is that every client leaves therapy with the tools to manage their concerns. She uses proven techniques along with the understanding that every individual has worth. Kara understands that our combined daily demands and expectations can be difficult to keep up with. She believes that now is a great time to invest in yourself to find hope, restore balance and challenge those limiting beliefs that accumulate along life’s journey. She can provide a safe and respectful environment where you can explore the patterns keeping you from living a more authentic life.
