My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) specializing and experienced in treating anxiety, depression, life coaching, LGBTQ and other life-stress issues. As a clinician, I utilize a variety of approaches, including cognitive behavioral, humanistic, solution focused, intuitive and existential therapy. In all cases, I try to adjust my style to meet the needs and preferences of each individual client. I also teach mindfulness, to enhance self-awareness and the ability to manage stress. I am pragmatic and a compassionate therapist. I approach therapy as a collaborative encounter, helping clients recognize and cultivate their inner strengths. My primary goal is to help clients achieve creative, meaningful, and holistic responses to the complicated challenges of their lives. I earned my master's degree in social work from Florida International University in 1993. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Miami in 1984.
