What's My Approach to Therapy?
I’m Karina Tenenbaum, a bilingual Spanish-English psychoanalyst with more than 25 years of experience helping children, adolescents, adults, and couples find relief, clarity, and emotional well-being. I earned my master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Buenos Aires and have been a licensed mental health professional in Florida since 2000 (Lic: MH6221).
In my practice, I work with a wide range of concerns—anxiety, depression, relationship and couple issues, life transitions, obsessive thoughts, impulse-control difficulties, and emotional or behavioral challenges. I also have extensive experience supporting individuals and families affected by autism, helping them navigate communication, regulation, and connection with warmth, patience, and respect.
As a writer, teacher, and active member of the World Association of Psychoanalysis, I am committed to a practice that evolves with the times. I teach at The Florida Center for Teaching and Research in Psychoanalysis, continuously engaging in learning and research to offer the most thoughtful and effective care.
I believe we cannot change what has happened, but we can transform how we relate to our experiences and how we move forward. Beginning treatment is an act of courage—a decision to step out of suffering and toward a life with more meaning, freedom, and possibility. I’m here to accompany you in that process.
