My Approach to Helping
I want to help you better understand yourself and feel more confident about who you are through active conversation and collaboration.
I specialize in working with clients who want to understand themselves better. Do you think you have ADHD? Were you diagnosed with ADHD as a child but have never really understood what that meant for you? Do fears about your health or performance disrupt your life? Do you feel that your brain never wants to quiet down?
These are many of the topics I cover with my clients. Together, we'll work to understand your worries, your executive functioning skills, and create new, effective coping skills.
I am committed to helping people find their path and take action to move forward in their lives. Therapy is a place where we can learn how to get “unstuck” and counter the worries that create doubt and uncertainty in ourselves. Together, we will use our conversations to explore how your brain works and identify supportive solutions for you. We will focus on how your thoughts impact your feelings and create behavioral strategies that improve your quality of life and increase acceptance of yourself. We can't "stop" thinking but we can learn new, kinder ways to accept ourselves and respond to our worries and self doubt directly. We only get one brain and I believe learning more about how and why it reacts the way it does allows us to create new learning paths and new ways of being ourselves.
