My Approach to Helping
I am also a therapy client myself (for many years, which informs my perspective as a therapist). I’ve been in recovery (& active in recovery communities) for over 20 years. I hope to co-create a space where folks can feel seen, understood, respected & believed.
I don’t think therapists can promise a “safe space”, because only clients know what feels safe, but my hope is to foster a “safe(r)”, “safe enough” space for folks to be able to be themselves and feel supported & not alone in the process. I believe in adapting therapy to what clients feel they need, want, and are best served by, & staying flexible & open to shifting direction. I am a therapist who is happy to share my humanness, admit to mistakes, and welcome feedback about what isn’t working, or doesn’t feel helpful.
