My Approach to Helping
We all face challenges in our lives and sometimes we need a little extra support to get through. I have over 10 years of experience in helping others overcome those tough times. I believe the client is the expert in their life and by building a strong, nonjudgmental working relationship we can find the best path to where they want to be. My overall goal is to help clients find coping skills that best fit them, build a strong support system and foster healthy relationships to help them continue moving forward. I also use play therapy techniques to help children work through issues using their language of play.
I enjoy working with kids, teens, and preteens, and have also worked with couples, parents, and grandparents. I have worked with a wide array of issues including anxiety, depression, relationships, stress, grief, non-suicidal self-injury, school problems, and adjustment issues. I have experience working in an emergency youth shelter helping abused and abandoned teens overcome a variety of issues and begin creating healthy relationships.
