My Approach to Helping
We all face challenges in our lives and sometimes we need a little extra support to get through. I have over 10 years of experience in helping others overcome those tough times. I believe the client is the expert in their life and by building a strong, nonjudgmental working relationship we can find the best path to where they want to be. My overall goal is to help clients find coping skills that best fit them, build a strong support system and foster healthy relationships to help them continue moving forward. I also use play therapy techniques to help children work through issues using their language of play.
Have you ever known a family or felt that your family could use some help in working through a tough spot? Let me be the resource you share with others or utilize yourself? Sometimes it is hard to pinpoint what is going on or maybe you know the exact event(s) that has caused difficulty in your family. I would be happy to help you work through those issues and devise a plan to work towards a healthy and cohesive family unit. There are many different configurations possible for a family and together we can figure out what works best for your family. I have worked with a wide array of issues including relationships, communication, parenting, anxiety, depression, stress, school problems and adjustment issues.
I also have experience working in an emergency youth shelter helping abused and abandoned teens overcome a variety of issues and begin creating healthy relationships.
