What's My Approach to Therapy?

I have been especially motivated in my own journey to help others who are going through acute existential or spiritual crises, to break through negative thinking and limited self-concepts, to discover more of who they really are and to live purposefully from that deeper awareness. I assist individuals in reducing the impact of stress on their mental and physical well being, utilizing holistic and therapeutic approaches to regain personal balance, vitality, and a meaningful life. I've worked in a variety of clinical and hospital settings, including pain management, substance abuse, and mental health, as well as providing services in the community, schools, and homes. I assist adults, families, and adolescents, in moving through areas of hardship and making positive changes for a more satisfying, fulfilling life. I listen empathically, along with utilizing therapeutic interventions for integration.

My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'

All of us have experienced disordered states from time to time, such as confusion, anxiety (worry), or depression (negative views), which can come about from multiple causes or conditions. Some of the causesconditions include being out of balance physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually, genetic or hereditary factors, thinking distortions or delusions, relationship conflicts, and environmental detriments. In my practice, I consider the multiple factors at play in a person's life, and the disorder as an opportunity for growth, perhaps experiencing a new synthesis or order in one's life. Together, we implement holistic approaches along with utilization of therapeutic presence and interventions, going for insight, understanding, creative choice, commitment, fulfillment, and optimal functioning.
