My Approach to Helping

I’m passionate about working with couples in therapy as well as individuals who are navigating the dating world or relationship hurdles. I appreciate the intricacy of human connections and the continuous effort required to nurture them. Even the most well-intentioned individuals can struggle in their relationships. Every one of us brings a unique background and life experiences to a relationship. My own personal growth and experiences within relationships have significantly deepened my interest in working with clients on relationship issues. I’m able to provide a more genuine and compassionate therapeutic experience, which ultimately strengthens my commitment to this meaningful work. I know the value of effective communication, self-awareness, and emotional vulnerability to maintain a healthy and thriving partnership.

I will provide a safe space for you to be open, honest, self-reflective and the perfectly imperfect you. When we meet, you will be able to work through your feelings and struggles without judgment and be accepted regardless of what you’re going through. I'm glad that you've taken this step toward feeling better in your life. Working with a therapist can be just the support and motivation you need to find your path in life and start walking.

More Info About My Practice

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor working with individual adults and couples, particularly those navigating relationship issues. Clients who choose to work with me will be met with compassion, support and encouragement. I promote mindfulness and self-love in sessions and help clients to begin to practice these in daily life to increase a sense of calm and balance in anxious and stressful times. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional and I'm trained in the Gottman Method for couples therapy.

There are two other Licensed Professional Counselors that are a part of my practice who each work with individual adults:

Kristin Rainey is a Certified Grief Informed Professional and EMDR trained. She is passionate about working with clients who are going through life transitions and healing from grief and trauma. Kristin utilizes CBT, ACT and DBT in addition to EMDR, where applicable. Clients who choose to work with Kristin will find that she is incredibly compassionate, caring and understanding and has a wealth of coping skills to share.

Dylan Mackie-Hernandez specializes in working with individual adults who are high-achieving and often identify as perfectionists and people pleasers. Clients who find themselves as more logical than emotional will find Dylan to be a great fit. She's immensely insightful and collaborative with her clients. She focuses a lot on helping clients who are struggling with relationship issues and finding worklife balance.

Kristin, Dylan and I offer in-person and Telehealth options for therapy sessions.
