My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) and School Counselor with over 25 years of experience working in diverse settings including drug and alcohol rehabilitations, psychiatric hospitals, residential placements, foster care, schools, inoutpatient programs and in private practice.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families including blended and individuals specializing in but not limited to anxiety, depression and other mental health issues and diagnoses, addictions, dual disorder, anger and stress management, trauma, social anxiety, identity conflict, LGBTQ, parent-child, and relationship issues.
My approach in counseling is to empower my clients that they are in control of their thoughts and it is through these thoughts, behaviors and emotions are experienced. By working collaboratively together and providing them with tools, techniques and resources for managing their problems, they can become successful in personal relationships, schools andor employment settings. I am extensively trained in Trauma Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I utilize Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral (Emotion Regulation) and Solution Focused Therapy as well as other modes of therapy tailoring to the needs of my clients.
