More Info About My Practice

I accept payment in the form of cash, check or credit card.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I've got advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy which can help you heal from past trauma. Trauma gets locked in your nervous system in the form of images, sounds, thoughts, feelings, and body sensations. EMDR is like a healthy digestive system, helping you metabolize the painful feelings out of your body. During sessions, your brain will be doing the healing, and you're the one in control.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love teaching folks about self-compassion, which is all about learning to be kind and loving towards yourself in concrete ways. Beating ourselves up is no way to live! Learning how to talk to ourselves with kindness helps relieve depression, anxiety, stress, and more!

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Attending therapy is a mark of courage and strength: it's recognizing that you need some help and showing up for yourself! And the benefits of attending therapy can outlast your own life: not only does it make you stronger, it can help you live in new ways shaping not only your life but your family and friends' lives as well.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Duration and frequency of therapy varies, depending on what kind of goals you want to achieve. I'll use the first few sessions to set goals for therapy together and then we'll use those goals (and your' perceptions of progress) to determine how long therapy will last. I'll ask you to try to have weekly sessions until you notice some progress on your goals, tapering sessions to every other week when it appears that your goals are being met.
