My Approach to Helping
I have a very relaxed approach to therapy and I recognize that before we can do any work my clients need to feel safe and know that they are not going to be judged by me. I have a very personalized approach and am able to establish a trusting rapport usually within the first session. I let the client pace her/his treatment based on their comfort level. I am not a therapist who sits and nods politely, but rather I like to engage in an active dialogue where thoughts and feelings are exchanged as we work together to find the insights and solutions the client needs. I am always inspired by my clients work and I recognize the courage it takes to sit down in a stranger's office and start talking about personal, painful, shameful, or frightening subjects. I respect that and am honored to receive that trust and I work very hard to be deserving of it.
