My Approach to Helping

I am deeply passionate about what I do with children and their families. I have been working with children and their families over 10-years in different settings, school, community and non-profit agencies. It's a privilege to sit in a room or play with another human being and have them share with you their suffering, their joy, their anger, their confusion, their sorrow, and their successes. I strongly believe that mental health is essential to a person’s well-being, a healthy family, interpersonal relationships, and the ability and possibility to live a full and productive life. As a therapist and Parenting Coach, I am experienced and credible in the mental health field serving individuals and families. I see the therapy room as a safe space, where one can truly be themselves, with no judgement, no criticism, only understanding and support. It is my job to know your story, understand your perspective, and guide you and your families with keeping their best interest always in mind. I approach therapy with my empathy and optimism being my foundational pillars.

More Info About My Practice

My work in the children and families mental health field began as an undergraduate student in Education and Family Human Services and graduate school with mental health major. During that time I completed one year of internship and 4 years work experiences in local youth non-profit agencies. The first was at a non-profit agency focused on the reunification of estranged families for youth and adolescence. There I worked as preschool teacher and family coordinator in non profit school agency for low-income families, and continued support the child and family. The third was as a child and family intern therapist in a community based agency where I saw children 12 years and under with variety of mental health diagnoses including autism, anxiety, depression, conduct disorder & oppositional defiance as well as children coping with grief & loss, and trauma. The experiences I had working with these children and their loved ones that I saw the powerful impact that family and environment has on the individual.
