My Approach to Helping
Finding a therapist you trust is a challenge and scheduling your first session takes courage. You’ve taken the first step toward healing and personal growth. I’m offering you a safe, nurturing and accepting place to freely express your feelings, thoughts and experiences. My vocation is to guide and support individuals like yourself to better understand themselves at a deeper level through the power of compassion and empathy. With commitment to therapy, we’ll explore your relationship with yourself and your relationships with others, addressing emotional and behavioral issues that are potentially holding you back.
I have over 13 years of experience providing mental health services including individual and group psychotherapy to diverse populations. I completed a master's degree in clinical social work with a specialization in mental health from Loyola University Chicago. I have worked across a variety of settings, from non-profit to community clinics and government agencies, outpatient-inpatient hospitals, including Stanford Health Care.
I provide online therapy to adolescents and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, difficult life transitions, relationship issues, substance use challenges, all of which may hinder engagement in important relationships: romantic, careerschool, social, family and so on. I utilize evidenced-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), internal family systems (IFS), EMDR trained, motivational interviewing in addition to humanistic, systemic and psychodynamic approaches, all of which allow me to effectively address emotional and behavioral issues from diverse backgrounds.
