My Approach to Helping

Have you tried lots of therapy before, but feel like it just didn't click? Is it ever difficult to find the words to describe what's happening in your life? Do you know what your patterns are, but just can't seem to change? Have you had therapists before who just didn't go deep enough? Or a therapist who only listened?

If your looking for an active therapist who moves deeply into issues, then my style might be for you. It is possible for you to experience profound transformational changes in your life. You and I can work deeply at core issues, so you can have new insights and make change real. This happens from the inside - out. Part of what we do is build connection and together identify what is underneath your problems. From there, we work collaboratively to dismantle outdated internal programming, paving the way for you to be your true self and live in alignment with your current reality.

I use imagery, breathing, color, sensation, movement and other elements. This is different than traditional talk therapy. I use these elements to help our brains process information differently. It's an "experiential" approach which allows us to embody information in new ways. My background as an art therapist can support you with unlocking your own creativity. Art is a mind-body activity.

Curious what session look like? In sessions we can do lots of different things; practicing breathing techniques, using guided imagery, listening to the sensations in your body, or learning body based practices that can help soothe, calm, increase energy and regulate. Other times it may look more like traditional talk therapy, but we are including the use of exploring in imagery and sensation. As a neuro-science informed therapist, there is a reason for this. I work efficiently and deep, so you can spend less time in therapy and more time enjoying your life.

It can sound a bit woo-woo, but there's science to it. I love sharing what I've learned about the mind, so if you have a question please reach out. I'd love to hear from you.

More Info About My Practice

Take a moment to imagine what would transform in your life if you could be in a deeper and more supportive relationship with yourself. Part of my role is to offer support and guidance for people who have parts that need healing and to allow their natural wisdom to emerge. Through my work, my clients often create more understanding, kindness, and joy within themselves, in relationships with others, and to their life as a whole.

I listen deeply to whats being shared with me and hold warm presence, strength and gentleness. I have found that by listening deeply and holding space for others in creative ways, my clients experience more internal space, clarity, and things might just "click" in new ways. I often hear "I didn't think I would ever get here" or "is it really possible that [this problem] has disappeared?" It's remarkable to see how people can orient to the world differently and in doing that, live in a new vibrational reality.

One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is investment into your own personal growth. This investment has ripple effects through your life: the one you experience now and the future to come. I've witnessed healing and growth happen. It is possible for you.

I love what I do and feel lucky to know people in such beautiful and meaningful ways.
Other details about my practice:
I work as a primary therapist for many clients. I also work as an adjuntive expressive therapist, supporting people who are looking to add another service into their treatment which could compliment the work they are already doing with their therapist. Options to meet weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly depending upon your needs.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

This varies! Often in therapy there is incremental change (baby steps) that happens. This is to be expected and while I witness change happen in small steps, it's also possible for it to be transformational. In taking this approach, we can hope that clients get results faster and more efficiently.
