My Approach to Helping
My greatest privilege is helping people find healing and wholeness as they work through the negative effects of hurt, anger and loss and the impact that these have had on their lives. It's through exploring what's behind the hurts & challenges that allow them to become empowered to live joyfully and successfully as the men and women they were created to be. My clients describe me as welcoming, easy to talk to, and warm hearted. When I am in a counseling session, it feels more like I am with a friend having a cup of coffee. I like to meet my client whereever they are on that particular day and we face the challenge together, even when the challenge is not clear to them.
I am most passionate about working with adults who have experienced the loss of a loved one, including a loss from suicide. We can work together to accept the loss, grieve your loved one and build a new routine to include memories and new experiences.
Finding a safe way to heal involves experiencing the acceptance and support of a healthy and professional counseling relationship. My counseling experience includes depression, anxiety, grief & loss, self-esteem, communication, relationship wounds, negative thinking patterns, suicide, death and dying, and trauma.
My education includes training in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and suicide intervention. I'm also an experienced group leader in suicide support.
