My Approach to Helping
Sometimes life is just hard. Whether it is situational, relational, behavioral, or emotional, at times life can be plain stressful and overwhelming. My goal is to help you sort through the chaos and provide you with the tools and resources needed to create long-lasting changes.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have my doctorate degree in Psychology. I am trained in various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Child-Parent Psychotherapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I specialize in working with adults and children in areas such as depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues (couples, family, parent-child), grief and loss, life transitions, and personal improvement (including motivation & self-esteem). I also specialize in parent-child relationship therapy and enjoy working within the context of families and couples to improve communication and enhance relational functioning.
I provide an integrated approach to treatment and believe that counseling should be individualized to the specific needs of each client. I believe in providing my clients with the essential tools and resources needed in order to obtain the healing and change they are seeking, as well as to maintain this transformation long-term. I find it extremely important to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment for all of my clients. I recognize how difficult it can be to seek help and to take the first step towards change, and therefore I am honored to have the opportunity to support and empower you through this process
