My Approach to Helping
As human persons we want to be seen and appreciated for who we are. In fact most human suffering is a result of failure to be heard, respected and appreciated. When this happens we develop ways to protect ourselves from the conflict and painof such failure, thus creating more problems and pain. I see therapy as a close partnership of concern, caring, and respect which allows the troubled person to freely grow and flourish toward a more authentic self. Most often the root of our difficulties begins in childhood, usually in our original family, and we reach adulthood before we our ways of protecting ourself become ineffective and it is then that good therapy can be most helpful.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I am skilled at helping couples recognize the repeated difficult and collusive interactions, often unconscious, that they get caught in in their relationship. Together we can learn new ways for the couple to reapond to each other, and to understand each other, to listen to the deepest core of the other, and thus find that their own needs and those of their partner are fullfilled
