My approach in therapy is collaborative, supportive, and goal oriented.
For over 13 years, I have dedicated myself to supporting people of all ages through a range of stressors, including anxiety, depression, tense family dynamics, grief, chronic illness, and life transitions. In this work, I’ve seen firsthand the tremendous pressures individuals face to appear “okay” and the self-blame that often comes from not meeting unrealistic societal expectations. These experiences have deepened my passion for helping those who are entering parenthood, raising young children, caregiving, redefining roles and boundaries in relationships, and navigating the complexities of grief and loss. Taking the first step to address emotional challenges is an act of tremendous courage, and you don’t have to face it alone. When life feels overwhelming, a strong therapeutic relationship can provide the support needed to navigate your journey toward growth and meaningful change. Together, we can draw on your strengths and collaboratively focus on your goals. If you choose to work together, we can uncover underlying barriers and unhelpful patterns contributing to your distress, while also identifying and strengthening your personal resources to foster growth. My clients frequently describe feeling genuinely listened to, understood, and met with warmth and authenticity during our sessions.
Thank you for your interest in my practice. I have been a licensed clinical social worker in the Mid-Hudson Valley since 1994. I offer supportive psychotherapy to children, adults, couples and families in the community. Within the context of a caring therapeutic environment, I collaborate with clients on addressing a range of concerns including relationship issues, life transitions (such as going away to college, coping with divorce, becoming a first-time parent) and managing stressors at school, work and home. Capitalizing on each individual's unique strengths and needs, I assist clients in finding ways to enhance their personal effectiveness and overall life satisfaction through opportunities to develop new skills and valuable insights. I am committed to staying current in my knowledge base as a mental health clinician so that I can best serve the persons who entrust me with their psychological well-being. My post-graduate training is ongoing and includes certification in the field of Grief and Loss. Having this background, I am particularly attuned to how emotional wounds that were inflicted in the past may be making their legacy known in the present. I have also been certified by the Smith College School for Social Work in the area of Advanced Practice with Children and Adolescents. My practice is sensitive to all areas of diversity, including race, gender, religion, ethnicity, disability and sexual orientation. While I work with persons of many faiths and creeds, I do offer Christian-based counseling by request.
Do you find yourself dealing with anxiety or relationship challenges? Are you using substances to cope with difficult feelings or situations? These struggles can feel overwhelming, but having support can make a meaningful difference. I work with individuals who feel stuck in unhelpful patterns and are looking for guidance, insight, and practical tools to move forward. In therapy, I help clients build healthy coping skills, strengthen self-esteem, and navigate life transitions. My approach focuses on becoming more aware of thoughts and emotions to better understand challenges and develop effective, lasting solutions. I specialize in working with anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, and substance abuse. I aim to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being their authentic selves. I use an integrative, client-centered approach tailored to each individual’s unique needs and therapeutic goals. I understand that reaching out for support can feel difficult and vulnerable. I'm committed to creating a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel safe and supported throughout the process.
My approach to therapy is Humanistic-Existential. Therapy in my view is a sacred journey to the core of one's being in search of meaning. Not unlike other explorations, here too, desire, determination, planning, and a roadmap are needed. Your therapist plays a critical role in planning and mapping your most crucial journey. There are times when psychological anguish has reached an overwhelming point by the time therapy begins. There, the 1st priority of therapy is to help the client to unpack the message enveloped in suffering. Therapy can help bring the realization that pain is the prelude to true awakening without which there can be no lasting clarity to light up your path in life. My beloved mystic, Rumi says it most eloquently in "only when you break you let the light in".
I believe in the Rogerian principle of having unconditional positive regard for my clients. This means that you will not be judged no matter what you share with me and that I will work with you toward the best outcome. I want to build upon your strengths and help you gain knowledge from past disappointments as building blocks toward a better tomorrow.
I have specific expertise working with couples as well as individuals navigating difficult relationships. I particularly enjoy working with high-achieving professionals, over-thinkers and cycle-breakers. I am an active therapist, meaning that I will ask questions and point out patterns to help you get to the root of what really brought you into therapy. I am a warm but direct straight shooter who values transparency and I use humor, intuition, and spontaneity in my work. My aim is not to tell you what to do, but rather to help you listen to your own inner wisdom.
I am a holistic therapist specializing in adult and senior mental health support, offering in-person and online sessions. Do you feel overwhelmed, unable to motivate yourself, isolated, depressed, or anxious, and wonder if cognitive behavioral therapy could help with anxiety treatment? Are you in an unhealthy relationship and interested in relationship counseling? Are you struggling with low self-esteem, dealing with loss, and could benefit from grief therapy, but are unsure where to turn? I incorporate a holistic approach into my practice. We start where you are in your journey. I work with adults and seniors. I accept Medicare. You no longer have to face your struggles alone. I provide a strength-based, trauma-informed approach in treatment. I look forward to hearing from you so we can begin your healing together. My therapeutic approach is eclectic. I utilize strategies from anxiety treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based approaches to create a personalized treatment plan. You’ll come to learn that I provide a safe, warm, non-judgmental space. I will listen. Together, we will determine the best approach to meet your goals and desired outcomes from treatment. This is your journey. I collaborate with you to achieve your goals and desired outcomes. You have taken the first step by reaching out. The next step is equally important. It’s who you decide to work with to achieve your goals. I look forward to speaking with you. I will answer any questions you may have.
Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in challenges that seem to keep resurfacing? Maybe you're struggling in a relationship, weighed down by anxiety or stress, or feeling stuck in patterns you don't quite understand. You may recognize that something needs to change but feel unsure where to begin. Therapy can help you gain clarity, strengthen your relationships, and find a different way forward. I work with adults and couples navigating relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, chronic illness, burnout, and major life transitions. You may be struggling with recurring conflict, communication difficulties, or emotional distance in your relationship. Perhaps you're navigating difficult family dynamics, low self-esteem, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or a growing sense of dissatisfaction. Whatever brings you to therapy, my goal is to help you understand yourself better and develop healthier, more fulfilling ways to navigate your life and relationships. I believe therapy should reflect your unique experiences, needs, and goals rather than follow a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we'll explore the underlying factors contributing to your challenges, including how past experiences, relationships, and familiar patterns shape how you cope, communicate, and connect. Understanding these dynamics is important, but insight alone isn't always enough. We also focus on practical strategies for managing difficult emotions, strengthening boundaries, improving communication, and navigating conflict. The goal is meaningful, lasting change, not simply managing problems as they arise. My approach is integrative, relational, and trauma-informed, drawing from attachment-based therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other evidence-based approaches. With couples, I help partners recognize cycles of conflict and disconnection, understand each other's emotional needs, and navigate challenges around communication, intimacy, and trust. Whether you're hoping to rebuild emotional safety, strengthen your connection, or gain clarity about your relationship's future, we'll work toward healthier ways of relating. With individuals, we may explore how family dynamics, past experiences, and long-standing coping strategies contribute to current struggles. Our work can focus on strengthening self-awareness, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and your ability to navigate relationships and life transitions with greater confidence and flexibility. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over a decade of experience, I bring a warm, active, and collaborative style to sessions. I'm not simply a quiet observer; I actively engage in our conversations, offering thoughtful feedback, practical guidance, and gentle challenges when appropriate. I believe therapy works best when you feel understood and supported as you make meaningful changes. I'm licensed in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut and offer primarily virtual sessions, with limited in-person availability one day a week in New York City. I'm currently accepting new individual and couples clients. You're welcome to schedule an initial session or arrange a complimentary 15-minute introductory call to ask questions and explore whether we'd be a good fit.
You look like you’re handling it. Inside, your mind is running tabs you can’t close. You’ve probably spent a long time trying to figure things out on your own. Maybe you’re overthinking, second-guessing yourself, or holding yourself to impossible standards, managing fine on the outside while exhausted by the effort it takes. Therapy with me isn’t about sitting in silence while you do all the talking. Most of my clients arrive saying some version of the same thing: “I know what I should do. I just can’t seem to do it.” That gap, between understanding your patterns and actually changing them, is exactly where my work lives. Together, we’ll explore why certain patterns keep showing up, where they came from, and what to do differently. We’ll pair insight with practical strategies so you can spend less time stuck in your head and more time trusting yourself and your decisions. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York, and I work with adults navigating attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I’ll challenge you when it helps and support you when you need it, but therapy with me will always feel like a conversation, not a lecture or a checklist.
